Through
prayer Pray that God would use ETC students and graduates to
strengthen existing churches and plant new churches.
Pray that God would provide enough faculty to teach the many
students who want to equip themselves for ministry. Well-trained
Ethiopian teachers are especially needed.
Pray that ETC students and staff would grow in Christ-likeness,
in their under-standing of God's Word, and in their ability to
minister effectively.

Through giving:
Staff Development: ETC is seeking
assistance so that its Ethiopian faculty will be better equipped
to train Ethiopia's present and future church leaders.
Gifts to ETC Library: Gifts to
ETC's library go to purchasing books which expose students,
faculty and alumni to fresh, challenging ideas from around the
world. US $ 40 will buy a key book and send it to Ethiopia.
|
Scholarships : Ethiopia's economic
challenges make it difficult for students to pay all of their
expenses. The average pastor who wishes to receive training for
ministry makes US $ 100-150 a month. Very little is left over for
ministry training after meeting family expenses. A gift of $ 15
pays for one student to take one course at ETC. A gift of US $
1,100 provides full tuition and living expenses for a full time
student for one year.
Course Materials : A gift of only
US $ 15 provides one student with notes, readers, and textbooks
subsidy for one course.
Special Need
W
heels for
ETC:
As ETC continues to expand we are also
conscious of the need for greater mobility...literally! In light
of this we would like to purchase a much needed minibus. Some of
the purposes a minibus could serve include:
¨ During the rainy
season, ETC hosts many guest
lecturers from overseas from one week to two months. During
such times heavy dependence is made of local transport.
¨ A minibus would have
the dual capability for both
transporting passengers as well as being used for the many
purchases necessary for the daily operation of a College like
ETC.
¨ Each year students
have been arranging field trips to
rural churches in order to encourage them through teaching
and evangelism. These trips have been successful and students
who take up this opportunity often return full of enthusiasm for
ministry and service.
¨ ETC will be
re-launching the Alumni Association in March. It has become
increasingly apparent that although it is possible for graduates
living in Addis Ababa to meet together,
it is harder to ask graduates serving in rural
areas to come to Addis. We are therefore planning to establish
regional Alumni Associations
whereby faculty from ETC would travel to regional meetings to
encourage our Alumni there.
M inibus Details:
We are therefore looking to
purchase the following vehicle to help continue the expansion of
ETC:
¨ 2007 Toyota Hiace
Minibus - Toyota has a strong market share of vehicles in
Ethiopia, which means both serviceability and depreciation
value positively support purchasing Toyota.
¨
The total cost of the vehicle is $20,000.00,
half of which we have already saved. We would like
to raise another $10,000.00 in order to purchase
this much needed asset for the College.
